Has anyone used this air dryer?

Post by newfab » Tue Jul 09, 2019 12:51 am

I picked up a small desiccant air dryer
https://www.amazon.com/Compressed-desic ... =hi&sr=1-1
and even though I am in a dry area (Colorado) we have had allot of rain lately and the beads seem to get saturated really quickly I was looking oline and found this one
https://www.usaweld.com/Max-Dry-for-Pla ... 5310-2.htm
It looked great for the price but I wanted to see if anyone had used it and what they thought
Thanks in advance
Eric

I am running a Milton setup very similar to what you linked. It is very humid here in the midwest and it works fine for me. Zero moisture or schmoo makes it into either of my Hypertherm units built in filters.

Milton 1072-2 1/2" Jumbo Desiccant Dryer System https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001O2USXW/re ... jDbJ9PN2FA

I am using the Sharpe 6760 https://plasmaspider.com/shop/dryer_sharpe6760.html and found it to work very well.

The more desiccant your dryer holds the longer it will last before the desiccant needs servicing again. This unit holds a whopping 5lbs and lasts me a very long time.

I have been very pleased with this unit :Like

Is 5 microns enough filtering down ? Seems like I saw 1 micron someplace, just asking from people that would know.

5 microns is not very fine, the unit I referenced above filters down to 1 micron prior to the desiccant dryer stage.
