I know this is totally off topic but I found this buried in my backyard and have no idea what it is. A friend says it looks like a manual track tool for the railroad but I think he's wrong. It looks like some kind of old pump handle to me. Any ideas. It's cast iron and about 2 1/2 feet long.
Thanks
anyone know what this is?

Can you see any markings cast into it either on the sides or edges? It looks vaguely familiar to me ... or not... maybe some tractor part or implement part???

Maybe an old tiller or cultivator part? A pump handle would have a handle like grip and be more curved I think.

Re: anyone know what this is?
There are two blocks of numbers on one side. Tough to read because of all the rust, I needed to make a rubbing. I can't even tell if there's anything on the other side, there's too much corrosion.
22-106-11 (the middle group might be 166)
5025 (the 5s looked a little like 6s to the naked eye, after rubbing they were more clear)
The two groups are upside-down relative to each other.

That actually looks like a Sea Can door latch handle, pretty rusted and corroded, but looks like on nonetheless.

Is it an old time scale? Move the weight in or out depending on the weight of the slaughtered farm animal?

I think it may be a part of an old woodburning stove.
