A couple recent gate builds

Post by bigcreek »

The gate that says Saint Michaels is around 32' x 6'. Each half of it was around 850 pounds.

The kalinowski gate was around 32' x 8' tall.

Really Cool! Did you use leveling bolts for the mounts?

Very nice work....I've been asked about doing some gates, but haven't got the first clue how to quote them. I'd lose my arse, I'm sure...lol...but solid work!

Thanks for the compliments. Honestly I am a little tired of doing gates. They pay good but they can be kind of a pain sometimes so Im focusing more on just the signage for awhile.

Just out of curiosity...would you care to share what you sold it for? How many hours did you have in it? It truly is a work of art.

The small gate with the arched top wasnt finished when the pic was taken, none of the angels facial features were done yet and it wasnt included in that $18k price as it was another order that came later, but it is done now. That little gate is being powder coated right now. It looks way better now than this pic shows because I welded alot of leaves to the stems which added alot to it.

I have no idea what happed to my reply.. all my words just disappeared. Anyway to answer your question Allen the Kalinowski gate was around $11,000 not counting shipping and took around a week to week and a half. The Saint Michaels was around a $25,000 project and took a couple months although there were other projects fitted in at the same time.

I love the detail in all those flowers! They really give it that 3 dimensional look. Very nice work.

Beautiful work and always well done!
I've done several gates, but not that large and they are a pain. Especially if you have to do the install as getting them level can be a real challenge.

Remember this one? It's still looking good.
