Fire pit for charity auction

Post by turtlebhp »

We got our dog from Lone Star Dog Ranch Rescue in Anna Texas. They are a great group of people who really care for the animals they rescue. They are having a silent auction to raise money to continue their good work. This is a fire pit I put together with some images I bought from etsy. Hope it raises a lot of clams for them.

Very nicely done! What kind of finish did you use?
Thanks,

David, on a fire pit we use krylon high temp black spray paint. No matter what the high temp paint we use, it does not hold up like one would think. We have determined it is not worth the money to do a high temp powder coat as it will still burn off. With the krylon, one can touch it up whenever needed.

Where did you get the file for the French bulldog with it's ears down? We have one and my wife would love that.

The ears down dog is a Dogue De Bordeaux. Ears up is the French Bulldog. Bought the file from an Etsy artist.

I almost forgot to ask! What material thickness did you use? And what method did you use to roll into shape?
Thanks,
David

David, Sorry so late to respond. It is 11 ga steel and we have a pyramid roll.

For anyone that has followed this thread, I just want to say the auction went well. This fire pit went for $3,500.00. Absolutely crazy. They raised a total of $110,000 to help rescue dogs from the puppy mills.

Your slip roll (pyramid roll) must be fairly heavy duty, and perhaps power driven - in order to accommodate 11 ga. steel.
Thanks for your reply.
