23 INCH CLOCK WITH RECYCLED FENCE BOARD

Post by gblaylo »

The clock is made with old recycled fence boards glued to an OSD board as backer plate. Metal is powder coated Stone Black along with the screw heads. The clock clock movement was purchased from Hobby Lobby.

Very nice. The wood and powder coat compliment each other. What diameter is it?

Nice clock! Glad to see someone go with the classic roman-numerals for 4 & 6, looks great!

Nice design. Can you tell me how you adhered the clock face to the weathered boards? I have tried several methods and don't feel like I have come up with the best solution.

From the picture it looks like he used small screws around the inner and outer circle. If you zoom in you can see them.

I just noticed that you appear to have mirrored the 6 to create the 4 and the V is backwards.

I'm pretty sure i got the clock face off of this site. Never noticed the V being backwards. I did have to modify the design some because the numbers were a bit out of time when I checked them, The face is held on with small sheet metal screws.

That's a good find! I never would have noticed that.

Why are the roman numerals for 4,5,6,7,and 8 upside down?

They're correct from the center.

I think that these look right and I have never seen one with the Roman Numerals inverted on the bottom.

That's pretty cool, you could scale it down a smidge and it would fit perfect on a wine barrel head....They're like 21-1/4" ish diameter....and use wine stained side as the front if you wanted......

I have downloaded the clock face file in the file sharing section. Hope you can and your student can use it.
