Compass wedding gift

Post by SRdesign »

Made this for a friend who’s wedding is next month. Coordinates are the location he’s getting married. It’s 24”, made from 14 gauge hr. I’ve already been asked what I would sell it for and I said $75 raw steel. Does that seem too expensive?

I charge .18 per square inch on 14 gauge, making my price around 103.00. Nice design!

Thanks for the reply. I just started cutting and have been playing around with the excel pricing sheet. What are you paying for a sheet of 14 gauge hr? I didn’t create this design but I liked it so much that I traced a compass stencil and added the circles. A few people on Etsy are selling this design, or very similar to it.

I'm with Scratch to cheap, when looking at the total time involved, not just the cutting, doing one as a gift for free is your choice but if you get many requests to buy you need to get a fair price. If you looking to Etsy for pricing info look at finished products, and you may need to have shipping costs (includes more time).

I figured with giving it as a wedding gift it would accomplish two things, getting a wedding gift out of the way and also with it being on the gift table a hundred or so people will see it. I’ll adjust up on pricing. Thanks for the insight guys.
