High School Shop Pizza Oven Build

Post by ifallswelder »

My students and I prototyped a pizza oven to mass produce in our high school metals class before we were shut down for the year. Here are a few pics of the build and the test firing that the woods teacher and I did two weeks ago. This one is made out of 1/4" mild steel and we had hoped to make one out of 409 Stainless also. The prototype works great and the stone temps were around 900F when we threw the first pizza in. It was done in about 3 minutes. Hope you like it.

Nice! My daughter is a wood fired pizza freak and I've always wanted to build one for her, but didn't like the brick oven design. I never thought about making one out of steel. Care to share any more details like where you got the cooking surface, thermometers, costs, drawings, or any other build details? I know nothing about how they work. I have lots of 1/4" sheet right now so maybe.
I think I'm the oldest 10 year old boy on the forum...

Great idea and very nice work. Does anyone have files for a Pizza Oven like this they would share?

Thanks
