Electric guitar fire pit

Post by kn612 »

My attempt at the guitar fire pit. This one will be donated for a raffle. What are guys using to paint fire pits?

This looks great! I'm not really sure how any paint will hold up for an application like this. Maybe high temp barbeque paint.

Super cool fire pit! Even if it was left bare for a natural rust finish it would look awesome. Thanks for the pic.

Yep that looks good.
Reminds a little of a smudge pot stack,

On that note, a smudge pot stays relatively cool at the base, which paint would hold up to.
That said, I wonder how difficult it would be to convert this file to a smudge pot guitar for the next one.
But the stack would not hold paint on a smudge pot.. Just a thought, without thinking much about it..

I would just paint it with whatever, and let them know once they fire it up, the paint is toasted..

As close as the flames are to the guitar body, not many coatings are readily available or practical in this application. IMO
