So, you think the moose should be kneeling on its front legs?
No. An animal standing on a steep grade keeps its legs vertical, and only the shoulders and hips change elevation. A moose does not stand on a steep grade with its body parallel TO the grade, and the legs perpendicular to the grade.
Take one of the typical white plastic chairs that are stacked up at the big box stores and TRY to sit on one while it is on a steep grade. Take one up to a steep roof and TRY to sit in the chair with your feet OFF of the shingles.
You CAN'T do it. The chair will tip over toward the downward slope because the center of gravity is OFF CENTER.
