Prerunner Trailing Arms
I am about to cut some trailing arms for a prerunner out of 3/16" with 1/8" overlays. I was just wondering if it would be ok to cut and weld out of HR or should I go with HR p/o or cold roll? Is there really any difference in strength? Or is HR just a dirtier material to work with?

Re: Prerunner Trailing Arms
I cut a lot of chassis components on our shop table and use all HR P/O. It's well worth the only couple extra bucks per sheet in my opinion compared to HR. No mill scale, added rust inhibition, generally easier to work with. The biggest differences with CR is surface finish, tolerances, straightness, etc. Hence why you see it used more so for machining. It's also more expensive. Strength isn't as much the concern.
