Miller Spectrum 2050 and "One Torch"

Post by Sierevello » Mon Jul 01, 2019 3:59 pm

I would like to use my Miller Spectrum 2050 plasma cutter on a machine. The machine torches for CNC cutting are expensive and scarce. Does anyone know if the Thermal Dynamics "1 Torch" will directly interface to the Spectrum 2050? I have sent Thermal Dynamics 3 messages and have yet to hear back from them.

Thank You,

Hey Steve

It will not directly interface with your 2050 but I remember a few years back Thermal Dynamics made adapters to allow the 1 Torch to be used on various brands and models of plasma cutters. You may be able to find an adapter. If I remember correcty the machine torch for the Millers back in the day were manufactured by Hypertherm. I would look to Miller for the correct torch if I was you.

Hey Steve

I am currently in the same position and I was wondering what you ever found out on the 2050 machine torch problem I would love to get away from my hand held torch so that I can start using a magnetic breakaway system.

I have a 2050 too. And I ordered a torch from Larry at Weld mart in Texas, It was a direct fit and works great !!!
consumables for the torch are dirt cheap and could be found anywhere.
Good Luck, Ralph
