Ipt60 torch fried

Post by Speedfab »

I just got into plasma cutting and cnc, after only three hours of run time my torch is smoked. Not sure if it’s something I did wrong, or I got a bad torch. Is it fixable? Appreciate any input.

Wow, what happened there? Was that cap screw on top of the bare copper wire loose? Looks like that was loose or you used your electrode long beyond its usable life, or severely contaminated air supply!

With new consumables will the torch fire?

I have seen this a few time with that aftermarket IPT60 torch. Its a Chinese copy of the Innotec/ Tecmo torch.
