Need Help Wiring Longevity 40D into plasma CNC w/Proma 150

Post by tas99 »

How do I wire the plasma voltage wires into a Proma 150?

I've attached a couple of photos of the torch head and it's internal connection to the 40D.

What are the 2 small red and black wires that are running through the middle of the coil near the head connector?

The 40D has a convenient plug spliced into the torch switch so that makes it convenient to fire the torch via the CNC (I think) but I can't figure out where to get the torch voltage.

Any help would be appreciated.

Tom

Go inside the case where the work lead and the torch jacks are and attach there to the raw voltage input for the Proma. this is about 140 volts max, be sure to use the correct polarity for you wiring to the Proma. You will need to run test for each metal thickness to get a chart to use for normal cutting with the THC. This video is for a different THC but the process is the same.

I appreciate your response but I'm still confused.

Work leads and torch jacks. Can you explain a bit more on what those are or where they might be.

Much appreciated,

Tom

He's talking about making the connections inside the power supply. The work lead is the cable that attaches to the material. The torch jack is the connector that the torch plugs into. Or the terminals inside the unit where the torch is attached if it doesn't physically unplug.
