Small Part CNC Plasma Cutting Fixture

Post by msimpson99 »

This is my second generation Small part plasma cutting fixture.

The heart of the fixture is the support bracket. Here is a little video I made making one of the brackets and testing the fixture.

The fixture supports both flat stock and angle as shown here.

NIce fixture, looks like it could be handy to have for cutting small parts as shown :)

Very slick! I built a fixture in my table (not nearly as pretty and way bigger) to cut profiles in angle and sq/rec tube. Once I trammed it in, I seldom drill anymore. About half of the work I do on the cnc is tube and angle.

I called this one the "Simple Plasma Fixture" because I am planning a more advanced one.

I have harmonic drive I purchased specifically for the plasma machine. It is my goal to create a fixture that I can mount my steel angle into so I can mill both sides in one job.

I have added a couple small parts to the fixture to help with securing the stock.

These are probably some of the smallest parts I have made with my plasma cnc. I am very happy with the results.

Here is a little video of the process.

These were cut with my everlast 50s on a CNCCS machine with Harbor Freight 40Amp consumables. I cant wait to try cutting them out using my Hypertherm machine using finecut consumables.

I added the holding arms to my writeup (near the end) here:
