Torch to lead make up fittings

Post by skookem »

I have a big Italian 3 phase plasma cutter I'm trying to convert to the cheapo P80 strait torch. In the picture, the fitting on the left is the line to the power supply the fitting on the right is the hand torch the fitting on the middle is the straight P80 eBay jobbie I want to fit up.
So is there a place i can buy cross overs to do this?
should I bin the P80 and buy somthing else?
Should I buy a P80 with a line? might face a similar challenge at the power supply?
Are they BSP ? NPT? Din? Metric ?

Yikes. Not sure what thread they are all using. I wonder if you could cut the fitting off the hand torch, screw that into the power supply lead, then all you need to do is find a male fitting (likely metric) that screws into the P80 female and weld those 2 fittings together.

looking on ali express at TIG adaptors looks like i might be able to find bits to braze together .. but it does like a bit easier to do at the other end perhaps T into the power and air in the box befor they are conbined
I will have to get home and measureit up properly

I think if you measure with a thread gauge and digital caliper you can determine what thread sizes you have.

I have no idea what sort of threads a big Italian machine might have. It was a car or motorcycle, then I would say probably metric.
