Football -- need some pointers
My brother wants me to create a cutout of his son.... and I am working on converting the file. I can do the outline just fine, but what do you choose to accent and what do you choose to skip on the interior stuff? I don't seem to have an eye for it yet and am wondering what you guys pick to accent on the interior of a silhouette, and why?

Re: Football -- need some pointers
Here is what I have so far. I think I have to do something with the leg, because it looks funny if I don't. I assume I want to accent the football and arm somehow (this is a poor attempt in this pic), and the helmet. Is my thinking right? What else would you accent? Would you accent with lines? or fills somehow?-- oh, that gives me an idea... I will keep working with it, but pointers would be appreciated. I will post the dxf when done....

Draw a small line on top and under the left leg to accent the other. Outline the facemask a bit and maybe the number edges our shoulder pads. Just my 2cent

Re: Football -- need some pointers
Heck, I need pointers too; I busted my tail tracing out a design in Inkscape, saved it as a .png file, printed and scanned it then saved it as a 256 color bitmap, then imported it into plasmacam and the stupid thing was still not cuttable. I really, really need a primer or something, or a good software that will let me draw and save directly as a dxf.

Really? I didn't know I could use Inkscape to export to dxf...I thought it would only export to bitmap. Let me look at this thang again....

Almost ready. Took off for a Christmas party and my brother asked if I could add a couple of more details. If he likes this I will post the dxf:
