Another flag - line problem

Post by smcmurrey »

I'm having trouble in getting this flag right in Sheetcam. All the lines are trying to close or it adds the arc at the end. Everything was on 1 layer using no offset. I tried adding a few lines to a new layer but the same thing happens. The dxf looks fine in F360, QCAD, and DraftSight. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

Does your drawing contain splines? SheetCam doesn't work well with splines. Convert the splines to polylines and it should work better.

Thanks for the suggestion but the lines are polyline in QCAD and DraftSight.

I'm not sure then. That's exactly what it looks like when I download a file with splines.

If you are not worried about others getting your pattern then attach the DXF or SVG file you imported into Sheetcam.

It's much easier to see what's happening when others can check your file directly.

The problem does appear to be a bug in SheetCam Stable. Stanton sent me some files to test off-list and the problem is triggered by using overcut on open paths. SheetCam is trying to overcut back to the start of the line and getting horribly confused in the process. The development version of SheetCam correctly ignores overcut in this case.
