help with tracing

hello everyone
i trace a drawing with vector magic and save it as a dxf file. then i import it into torchmate cad and the file has several lines. can't seam to get rid of all the lines. does anyone else use vector magic? i don't know if its vector magic or the torchmate cad that's giving me problems.
am i missing something? or doing something wrong.
any help would be appreciated.

I don't use it but can you save it and load it as a SVG that seems to be better with some software.
