Air Drying - Joule-Thomson Effect

Post by CNCCAJUN »

* Has anyone tried this method of drying air.

* If you have, does it finish the job or does it still need to go through a refrigerated dryer?

* I have spoken to the engineer at JT Dryers. He assured me that this type of dryer delivered a finished "dry" product.

* Any input or experience with this is appreciated.

Thanks,
Steve in very humid Louisiana . . . :D

I have no experience with this style of dryer however I cannot see it being as effective as a refrigerated or desiccant dryer. We have a unit that costs not much more and I guarantee it will be more effective than the unit in question in removing oil vapor, water, and humidity. See it here at this link http://plasmaspider.com/shop/dryer_sharpe6760.html Many of our members use these with great results.

I'm looking at this as a "FIRST IN LINE", then follow with the product you mentioned.

I am looking for a way to eliminate another piece of equipment that will eventually wear out.

why not use old sarge,s method ? http://plasmaspider.com/viewtopic.php?f ... yer#p59408

I know it will work . this is what I did on accident.

I needed more air so I ran a pipe from my 60 gallon tank to a 30 gallon tank 30 feet away then attaches to the plasma spider stores filter system.
all the water stays in the 30 gallon tank. none makes it to the filter system no water anyway. there is nothing in the water trap or the moister trap and the last filter is blue.
if you run 8 hrs a day you might get some . but it eliminates 95 or better of the water. cost nothing to run.

nothing to plug in or break down . plus old sarges rig will keep the water out of the tank. saving the tank

I am building 2 of them I have a 60- and 80 gallon. just have to pick up the coolers .
