Font Help

Post by joeshown »

I have a Tracker plasma table and thousands of 22 gauge (.030 thickness) pieces of galvanized steel that measure 14" x11". I want to be able to cut the names of my customers dogs (I manufacture high quality dog houses http://www.k-9kondo.com) in these blanks as an added value for my customers. Can anyone suggest a font that works well with o's, p's, q's etc.? I have a 10,000 fonts software but none of the ones I have tried do very well in working with the letters I mentioned. I know the smaller the letter the more difficult it is to keep the centers connected but am hoping someone can point me in the right direction. Thanks.

Don't limit your work to just the fonts available in stencil. If you have CorelDraw it is really quick and easy to bridge letters. I have a sign range I do which I change the text on real often and the average sign takes me less than a minute to do with fitting the text to path and bridging.

Here's a couple of videos, one from JJ CustomDesigns here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=21ciTnprD1Y
and another that shows even more you can do like creating a shorcut to speed it up a bit http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2GVGfT6UfLs

I apologize for the late response to helpful points. Thanks very much for all of the suggestions. I am going to give them a try this weekend.
