Help with niece's memorial photo

Post by SlagBandit »

I am currently working on a memorial bench for my niece who passed away a year ago. She was only 28 when she passed. The bench will be placed in our town's public park. I am needing help with getting the picture to look accurate on this bench. My sister and brother-in-law are wanting this picture (attached) on the memorial. (No pressure!) I can do the picture, but for me to do plasma cut ready, it doesn't come out looking very well. Was wondering if any one would be willing to give it a shot or would have any suggestions to help me out? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I'm not much good on converting photos but here is a bench back that I cut for a friend that might give you some design ideas.

At just under 12kiB for a portrait trace I don't think asking for a higher resolution pic is asking too much. Pretty sure that if slagbandit had a dxf file then a trace wouldn't be requested

I'm going to try out a new program a guy says will vectorize a portrait easily. Going to try several different pictures using it to see if it works. Higher res pictures make tracing a whole lot easier.

I can trace the photo with CAD but still run into issues with what to save and what to leave out. Tried Coral Draw but haven't used it enough to get the results I'm looking for!

Portraits are real difficult to make into a dxf file that captures the essence of the subject and won't fall apart. There are some excellent videos on line that show how to trace a photo in Corel. Haven't found an easy way to do it yet.
