Someone else to run a craft booth???

Post by jamscal »

Hello all,

New member here with a 5x10 Bulltear table.

I have a welding and fab business which take up most of my time.

I like making stuff and would love to sell 'arts and crafts' at shows.

But, I don't really have the time between the business and family obligations.

Has anyone hired someone to run a craft booth?

Seems like it would be a good fit for a semi-retired person or student who likes that sort of atmosphere.

They would need a truck, tent, smartphone and their own square reader...and be trustworthy.

I'm assuming they would act as independent contractor and/or take a commission.

Thoughts, ideas?

I would be able to devote some 'training days' (It would be a training for me too), to get started.

Thanks,

James

The only person I would "hire" to run my booth would be family, or a very, VERY close friend.

Hi, We have not been doing craft shows too long but when we cannot do our regular show, My best friend does it for me and We pay him 30% of whatever he sells. There are lots of craft shows that require the artist or crafter to be present or at least relatives. We found a small farmers market near us that we do every Saturday and we leave most of our booth setup there. Feel free to call me if I can help in any way.
