Open Heart Surgery and Impact on using Plasma Table

Post by redmike52 »

Hi;
I'm a new member who was just getting ready to pick up my first plasma table when I had a heart attack and quadruple cardiac bypass. I'm looking ahead to picking up my table, but am hoping to hear from others who have had open heart surgery on how long it will be before I can really use the table and handle moving sheets of steel.

Thanks in advance for your willingness to share your experience.

Sorry to hear about your surgery, I hope you are on the mend.
Your doctor is going to be able to tell you when and how much work you can do.

My father-in-law had the same procedure over 20 years ago. He just celebrated his 83 birthday last week. He goes to the gym 3 times a week, which is more than I do.

Thanks, Pony, for the note. I'm encouraged by your father-in-law's longevity.

there are more than a few of us with physical limitations. Some pretty extensive. Depending on what thickness material you will be running, adding a crane either an overhead track or a swinging jib crane makes a huge reduction in the actual loads you will have to handle.
In short, don't let it hold you back.

Ive had open heart surgery twice now . once when i was 4 and again about 4 years ago when i was 28. the doctor should tell you how long you need to fully recover.
