Help/Advice

Post by natewelding »

Hey everyone, I feel bad for asking for help but I'm stumped and not very good with this type of stuff. I need to make a stencils for a football field, so they can spray the aluminum and it leaves the white numbers on the field. The aluminum sheet in 48x96 (4'x8') with 72(6') tall numbers. I tried in my program, but the regular "stencil" font is what they are looking for but when I draw it out the numbers are too wide and wont fit in the 4' sheet. It wont let me scale the width down at all. Was wondering if anyone could work it out for me, or have suggestions how to change the width? The numbers are supposed to be all the same distance from the bottom of the sheet, 12", Basically centered.

If you go ahead and post all of the numbers/letters you need, I or someone with Plasmacam software can scale it for you. Just post it in dxf format. Plasmacam has a scale and scale height command where you can keep the 6 foot height but scale the width so it will fit on the 4 foot wide plate. I just looked at it in autocad and see what you mean, I'm not an expert in Autocad but to my knowledge you can't scale height.

They need 012345G the G is capital. 72" tall, all of them except for the 1 are 42" wide. The 1 is 30" wide. Just the generic "stencil" patterns will work they said. This is the link to what theyre looking for.

They use the top number set, but said that the stencil font will work just fine.
I can only use dxf formats also.

Gotcha. Someone may get this to you quicker, I'm at my day job and don't have my software on this computer, but if you don't have it taken care of by this afternoon I'll scale these for you and repost.

If they are all 42" wide, why will they not fit on a 48" wide sheet? I assume you meant 52"
Here is what I came up with for you.

Gonna check to see if yours work I appreciate it. The ones that I made were wider than 42" is what I meant, I couldn't scale mine down to 42" wide, I think mine were 56" wide

I tried the G but when I open it on my table parts of the G are missing, so I grouped the G and the rectangle, and it tells me that there is an unsupported entity: SPLINE
