Old Timer (Bass pattern)

Post by scrollzilla »

I am trying to find the limits to which type of my patterns work, and are wanted. This one is fairly complex (but by far, not my most complex). How does this work?

As it is there would be some areas which would be quite flimsy if used for a free standing piece but this would also be the case if cut from timber with a scroll saw. But it wouldn't take a lot of effort to bridge some of these areas to toughen it up without loosing the integrity of the design. Certainly a lot easier to adapt than draw from scratch.

Thanks for sharing and you more than welcome to keep them coming.

Murry,
I have to agree with you. When cutting this one with a scroll saw, it rates about a 9.5 on the sphincter scale. I have over 600 patterns that I have designed and I am just trying to get a feel for what works for metal and what is not really practical.

My rule, the lines must be 5 mm apart.
