Any one have a barrel racer, very little detail

Post by M & N Steel CNC »

I did the search and the two I found probably would not cut at 14 inches, need a silhouette, very little detail.

You could always use the ones here and delete some of the detail, I do that quite often with smaller pieces, especially on cars, much easier to take detail out than add it.

SignTorch has several that would cut small. Check out his site. :D :D :D

When I download the files with too much detail into corel, I can only delete one node at a time, very time consuming,
but that is what I am doing now, anyone have any ideas on how to make it easier to delete a section?

To remove each object within a drawing, click on the object to select it, select shape tool and hold left mouse and drag around to select all nodes and hit delete, gone.
If you only want to remove some of the nodes and make adjustments to the drawing just drag around the nodes you want to remove and hit delete.

if you start with a dxf composed of (relatively smooth) short line segments, you can select all (or some) nodes, right click, and hit curve, then right click and hit smooth, and then try the reduce-nodes slider, of course you would want to deselect any hard corner nodes (before smoothing), and any sharp nodes that get distorted by smoothing can usually just be deleted (before node reduction)

I usually find myself using low values like 3 in the reduce nodes slider, because higher values usually cause unacceptable distortion, but it depends on the shape, sometimes it works better to lightly smooth the whole shape then re-smooth any sections that might need more smoothing
