Line colors with new computer incorrect

Post by PineLane »

Bought a new HP to replace a failing Dell. Been having problems with line colors in SC. Example- cut lines are now black, not green. Some parts have multi-colors for the same lines (cut lines, shapes, paths). Tried changing in the "Applications Tab". Will allow changing, but doesn't reflect the color change on the part.

Old Dell- Intel/Windows 10/Integrated graphics
New HP - AMD/Windows 11/Integrated AMD Radeon graphics

Per suggestion, updated the graphic drivers and installed the V7.0.21 SC instead of using Development version (required for older CandCNC system per Tom...too many years, don't recall details why)
No change with updates and version change.

Anyone else came across similar? Appreciate any good insight. Past the return window for the computer. Otherwise, runs like a champ.

Not a great example, but shows various colors.

It takes a computer the screw things up :Sad never used HP only Dells on the table I built.
Maybe another member who has a HP with win 11 can help.
If you use Inkscape you could try changing line colors to see if you see a similar problem.

Have you checked the application options? You can change colors there.

Yep, I did. Allows the ability to change, but doesn't the change the color on the part lines.

The line colours are an attribute of the drawing file . not the construction and display types in SheetCAM. It requires you decided in the drawing not in Inkscape) that the line colours in the NORMAL display mode be changed from the default black. You can do that at the line level or the entire Object .

While that might sound like a neat way to setup layers in SheetCAm to separate different types of cuts, It requires you do a lot of thinking on the art work side . Since you might want to stay in OUTLINE mode in your drawing tool changing line colours is a lot of extra steps.

It s whole lot easier to turn the colour import off and just bring in the lines and then use the contour selection tool in SheetCAM to assign shapes to a named layer. Learn to use the drag box and /or the left mouse+ ctrl key to select multiple contours to then right clink and assign to a layer/

You will also see that the line colours are in the Hex number format for Red - Green-Blue (FFFFFF =all full one = white) So unless you are used to that or use only primary colours its a bit dicey to try and sort which is which !. They do not show up as colours in the SheetCAM workspace

NOTE: Some of the SVG and PDF type clipart that is multilayer (stacked) does have the lines as different colours but they are not real useful with plasma....now, if you want to talk about routing and doing multilayer stacked designs using SheetCAm then we can expand the discussion!
