Update to my post of 3/10/20 Program Wont Run

Post by tas99 »

I found that if I start Mach3 and DON'T "Ref Home All" the program loads and runs correctly. If I do home all nothing loads and I get the symptoms described in my earlier post.

Any ideas?

Is this something the just popped up, or has never worked for you?
Have you reloaded Mach 3 and what version are you using?
I never really use Ref all, I just move to a start location and zero out the DRO, load G-code and go. I know there is a reason why some use it but I don't.

This is a DYI plasma and I just got it operational except for the program load problem. I sometimes use your method on my other machines but when the job is big (close to table limits) it's nice to home/zero to make sure it will fit within the limits.

Your G-code from the other post works fine so it looks like a Mach 3 problem. I am using version .067.
Are you using a parallel port or USB for the connection to the PC.
Ok something just popped into my head when in the program page go to the operator tab and on the drop down menu click on "edit button script" you should see the Ref All button blinking click on it. This brings up the menu box for the Ref All button. see attached image as to what should be in it, they are the commands to move the axis to a location. No info no move :Sad

My script looks just like that and it didn't load. Then I thought, since I did not have the Z home enabled that might be the problem so I deleted the line DoButton (24) which is the Z home. No change to the problem.
