Large Cone

Post by tylerd »

Can someone make this into a cutable file, and keep DXF Format? Not sure what needs to happen, but one end of the cone looks like it will not cut. I need the dimensions to remain as is, yes it is large, I know. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!!

Even if that were scaled in millimeters it would be 40' long. More than I'm gonna load on the ole table. :-P

Tell me the dimensions you need. Major diameter, minor diameter, & height. I assume centerline offset. I can plug it in and have it in seconds. Butt weld the seam or need an overlap?

Ok, these are my dimensions, and the Lap seam is figured in with them:
20.125 ---- 20 1/8 ---Minor dimension
24.875 ---- 24 7/8 --Major dimension
6" height

Thanks for the help!

Not sure how you can figure the lap seam in but here it is both with and without at those dimensions. Hope this helps!

Here is some free software which may help you on future projects. I have only used it a couple of times (I dont make a habit out of rolling cones) and it has worked well for me.

Not sure how you were scaling it. I took the file you cleaned up and assumed it was in millimeters then converted it to inches. My conversion brings it to a piece that can be cut out of a 2'x5' sheet.

Yeah I responded from memory and added a decimal point thus the 10x exaggeration.

Awesome! Thank you Robert and Jason.p, yeah I used a prog similiar to the one you posted, and it was output in inches. I don't plan on doing a lot of this that is for sure! Here is a link to the program I used...https://www.templatemaker.nl/cone

Thanks Again!
