CNC Oxy / Fuel - Mach3 / Sheetcam

Postby 79Bronco » Sun Mar 12, 2017 1:11 pm

What post processors are you guys using? I set up a torch yesterday but I do not have a good functioning post to run it.

My plasma post touches off the work to find material height. That will not work with the oxy setup. I tried a few other posts that came with sheetcam but none seemed to function right. I am fine doing all manual z movements but I need a way to be able to move the Z up and down while running a program. Right now I can not make any manual Z adjustments while a program is running. I have a solenoid for the cut oxygen so I need the post to fire that as well.

Hello,

you can make a User Button Z Axis Up and another Button Down and a User LED fore Z Axis by Hand with Mach screen:

The Code Up Button:
If (GetUserLED(1316) = 1) Then
DoOEMButton (233)
Sleep ( 500)
DoOEMButton (234)
End if

The Code Down Button:
If (GetUserLED(1316) = 1) Then
DoOEMButton (235)
Sleep ( 400)
DoOEMButton (236)
End If

This is my setting, the output is 500 or 400 ms high and a Relais set GND to the THC Up or Down Pin.
With the sleep Time Adjust the travel distance from Z Axis.
The Button have a Hotkey U and D fore Up and Down.
You can control with the keyboard or with the gamepad with keygrabber.

Works fine every years on my Machine!

A other way is a Switch fore Up and Down!
See the picture!

Thanks for the info, I've never played around with editing my Mach screens honestly I'm not even sure where to start with that. Is there a way to just use the Z in normal jog mode while running a program? That would be ideal then I can just set up a remote pendant since I was planning on doing that anyways.

Hello

Yes, it works. But hardware is also needed. I'll make a plan in the next few days.

Hello,

A second LPT port is the best.
See the config from Output and input.

And make a Bridge from Pin2 to 12 (THC Up) and Pin 3 to 13 ( THC Down) see the Pic

Or a cheap BOB and uses the relays

The set File and Bitmap sent a PM

Hello Bronco,
I know this thread was long ago, your table hardware set up almost the same as mine. How about your table work ?
