Downdraft table questions

Post by goodhue1 »

I bought a used plasmacam last week and my new air compressor is coming tomorrow. I just need to put together a ventilation system. My main concern is loosing all my near from the shop. As I type this it is -15 out and I feel like if I had a fan running I could suck all the heat our of my little shop in 30 seconds. Do you guys have any tips for me as I figure out my ventilation? Thank you!

Look into a water table instead of ventilation exhaust. There is lots of info on this forum.

A lot of it has to do with how much money and time you want to throw at it. I have down draft only, thinking about doing a drip feed that rides the gantry putting water on top of the metal as it cuts.

Water table for sure.
There's no way to ventilate the table without sucking the air out of your shop, unless you made a separate booth/room that was vented to outside air for the table.
I run mine inside all day with the water table with no issue

I have set up a smoke extraction arm that I scavenged and hooked it up to ventilate into a smoke and fume filter it works awesome. All my heat stays in the shop I have mine mounted to a i beam with trolley wheels so I can move it around
