add picture to saved dfx file

Need to update my save files that I have downloaded, how can I go back and add picture to my files. when I open it up in design edge I have to open look at the drawing close it and than go to the next file is there a way I can edit my saved file to add the picture to it so I can see just by opening my save dxf file, Any help or suggestion on this I would be grateful thanks Robert.

( I know some where on here some one talked about this before I have searched but can not find the topic. )

There is a free program called Irfan-view that you can use to view DXF file images by clicking on them. You need a pluging for the program so it will do this.
this is what they look like in a folder and then opened.

Thanks I will check it out, just trying to find something faster when I am looking for a file so I thought a picture would work instead of written description. once again thanks Robert.

A couple of things I have done to improve the viewing of thumbnails to find the file I am looking for are:

Right click on the folder you are looking thru and select View/Large icons. This will let you see your .bitmap type icons as a thumbnail .

Download a windows explorer plugin for viewing .svg icons, which will, along with the previous suggestion, let you view .svg and Corel Draw .cdr icons as thumbnails. https://svgextension.codeplex.com/

I have not found a .dxf explorer plugin yet, but am still looking.

Use a free program called IBrowser to view any f
ile on your computer, it is awesome

View any file , save a lot of time
with Ibrowser

Very nice thanks for the link, it takes a little sniffing but after you get acquainted it looks neat.

Works good on image files but, not on DXF files like Irfan View does
