Quail

Post by BAR M »

Howdy,

I completely lost my cnc computer along with most files. I am restarting with a new system but I cannot get Ink Scape to do a trace, convert to dfx so that I can import into Torchmate system. I just downloaded the most recent version of Ink Scape, I think, bought a book (aimed at dummies), watched tutorials on You Tube, and I still cannot get my trace.
If anyone has the time to trace this scanned image and can explain how it was done, I would be very grateful.

Thank you, Bob

I am not an Inkscape user but with a relatively simple shape like that you'd be best off importing it into Inkscape and using curves and lines to draw and manually trace it.

Here is a quick trace of your sketch - I traced it using draftsight and drew a polyline using arcs and lines.

Good Luck :-)

Howdy Mrs Savage,

I really appreciated you coming to my aid. I am very much old school and am trying to learn. I will now investigate draftsight.

Thank you, Bob

Happy to help. I like Adobe because I can trace, expand and save as .dxf and may other extensions.
