Tank truck

Post by Twisted 1 »

Hi all, I am trying to trace this in inkscape and can't seem to get a good trace. I was wondering if someone has a truck and tank similar or if someone could help me out. I am willing to learn but am having a hard time as I am new to inkscape. Thanks in advance

The ideal thing in Inkscape is to have a black and white picture and no background, shadows or glare off the subject to be able to auto trace.

Yeah, that's going to be a manual trace to get that cuttable. Here's one from the internet with some bridging. It's far from exact but maybe it will help.

Thanks for the truck file Robert. I will give Inkscape another try. It’s for a donation to my company that I work for. We do a fundraiser every year for prostate cancer called Plaid for Dad

No problem, I know it was a long way from the picture haha but it's what I found in a search. I can do a manual trace but that's one I'd have to charge for. My email is Robert@490Creations.com if you decide you want to try that route.

Here's my try. Files included are bmp, svg and dxf. Might need to thicken up some lines. Hope it helps.

Your welcome. I like a challenge and it's for a great cause. I just noticed the dxf had a couple broken lines and I've attached that issue fixed. Seems Corel took a few libertys. Some of the lines are very close together so check them out.
