Company Logo with Tree

Post by metalhd89 »

Hello everyone, I am trying to convert this to a DXF and also can not figure out how to keep the tree trunk from falling out and still keep the image. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Should be fairly easy to add some bridges. What program are you using to try this with?

Maybe this will help? https://youtu.be/xEzVGRxDw88

Here is a start. You will still need to decide how you want to handle all of the letter shadowing. as a lot of them are going to fall out and the text didn't trace very clean so that will need some help as well. If I get a some free time this afternoon I'll see if I can clean it up a bit more for you.

What size are you cutting it? You are probably better off getting rid of the letter shadows if you are cutting it under 36" wide.

Yeah? Anyone can draw them but they won't CUT! With a .060 kerf you can't get between the letters and the shadows at less than a 36" wide sign. At 24" wide, some of the fine line shadows hanging out in the wind are .026" They'll burn up and it will be a horrible cut.

Robert got it right. Drawing them in is child's play. Getting them to look right depends on cut size and kerf.

This is one way to do it but you will still need to edit the shadows on pretty much every letter, trimming some of them back to allow for more bridging. And figure out the most effective way to stencil the R's. This is sized @ just under 24" and with 20 to 30 min of editing the shadows will be cut ready no problem.
FYI the font is "Alfredo".

Great info and input from everyone, the sign is going to actually be 36'' x 48'' and I believe I have it under control now. I will share pics next week when it is cut and painted. :D

If you can't post the font let me know where you got it from, OK!
