Jog Speed

Post by cfmetalworks »

Does anyone know how to adjust the speed of your torch while its moving between cuts?
I am currently using command CNC and Sheetcam. I didn't know where I would find the settings or if I could even adjust it.

Thank you!

I don't know if CommandCNC has a configurator to set up Linuxcnc .ini file options but Jog speed is controlled in LinuxCNC in the .INI file in the [DISPLAY] section by the DEFAULT_LINEAR_VELOCITY setting. Note its in units per SECOND, not

DEFAULT_LINEAR_VELOCITY = .25 - The default velocity for linear jogs, in , machine units per second.
See http://linuxcnc.org/docs/html/config/in ... ay_section

Also for a given axis or joint, there is a setting called MAX_VELOCITY which is the maximum speed your machine can run at. Its used for rapids.

DO NOT root around in the ini files .

The Configurator is a GUI configuration tool for the whole system

Set the max velocity (rapid speeds ) of each axis here:

LOWER max rate on the fly here :
