Best way to accept payment?

Post by Pa.Pete »

For those of you that sell at craft shows and flea markets how do you accept payment? I know cash is king but do you also use a credit card reader? If so what is a recommended brand. Any tips anyone can give me relating to this?

I thought I would use paypal on my website. Do you use anything else that would accept a Visa card or anything?

I use Paypal, their credit card swipe is just like all the others but you can also accept paypal payments as well.

I didn't know PayPal offered the card reader. I will have to check into that. Thanks everyone for the replies.

We use Square. The reporting tools to track sales tax are way better than Paypal.

I would have to agree with csplazma1. I have been using paypal for years but did not like the way some of the features work. I started using square a little over a month ago and so far like it much better than paypal. It seems more user friendly.

I accept only cash and e-transfer. Sends you an email when arriving and goes into your account before they walk away. No fees.

We use paypal chip card reader and have been happy with that. Now we also have Chase Mobile Pay thru Chase bank for when we have two shows at the same time. Chase is nice because each days charges deposit the next day. Paypal is nice because we order so many supplies online its nice that it always has a balance. Its really up to you. Its a good idea to have at least two processors just in case something happens and one goes down. Last year we were right in the middle of one of our big October shows when paypal got hacked and was down. Hard thing to have sales walk out the door because you can't process there card.
