I've gotten a price on $3.25sqft for Galvanneal and I can get it cut in 4x4 for free. So 4x8 sheet of 14ga galvanneal is $104.00.

Merica_Metal, are you cutting galvanneal with plasma? If so this can be a very risky thing to do.

I am not currently I've been subbing all my stuff out till I have a machine up and running. However that's pretty much all my friends Messer cuts is galvanneal. Whats the risk? I'm trying to source all my material now as my machine arrives Monday. If anyone knows of any suppliers in the Houston Area please let me know.

Any time you weld or cut galvanized material with a torch or plasma it gives off some pretty bad fumes. One of my employees got very sick and ended up in the hospital. Goggle it and do a little reading before doing it.

I'm going to look into CR vs.that. I wear a resperator when I grind on that stuff and the dust gets everywhere... I got some prices back as I talked to a steel supplier today.
This seem right?
14ga CR 4x8 $45.25
16ga CR 4x8 $38.46

1000lbs and they deliver it for free.

That pricing is not bad. I'm paying 42 for the 16 and $45 for the 14 but I'm buying P&O. It resist rusting for months at a time.

Well I think I might jump on a steel deal that's too good to pass up. Pretty much an investment on my part.
21,887lbs of cold rolled in various sizes. at .21cents a lb.
46x 26.625 all the way up to 50.5 X 120 749 sheets total.

This all started because while I was waiting to be loaded I saw a whole fork lift loaded with 1/8 plate being loaded in the dumpster. I get out look at the plate and its all perfect from what I can tell. Talked to the guys and they said if anything gets a nick or a scratch it scrapped as clients want premium steel.

Make friends with your steel suppliers :)

What's the advantage to cold rolled?
Sounds like they are upping your price to compensate for cutting in half?? I was going to have Alro cut some 3/8 steel sheet in half and I about chocked when I saw their cut fee!!

I decided a long time ago to mainly cut aluminum!!

Gary, I think Rick was finding the $22 a sheet price for CR a little hard to believe not yours. At least I know I was.

I made a steel run today and according to my calculation, I just paid exactly 35% more per pound than before. Not sure if this a knee jerk reaction to what's been going on with NAFTA but that's quite the hike overnight.

Hi

Prices in western Washington have gone up about 40% since last November. I buy 5,000lbs at a time so we aren't talking retail here. The latest round of saber rattling out of the other Washington hasn't helped any.

Im in the same boat in south western Pa with what feels like the knee jerk reaction, less than a year ago a full sheet of 1/4" was 150$, just this week I was quoted at 250$.
