Rigid Shaft Coupler Source?

Post by urbnsr »

Does anyone have a somewhat inexpensive source for the steel one piece rigid shaft couplers? I need a handful of them from 1/4" - 1/2" and find prices in the $50-75ea range. I thought I bought one last year that was priced maybe half of that, but not finding the paperwork on it. I like how they grip so well without gouging the shafts.

Thanks for any direction....

I have bought shaft couplers from Mc-Master Carr, you might take a look at their prices.

Thanks for the info. I actually started with McMaster-Carr, but must have looked at the stainless steel column. Steel column looks better, but still room for improvement ;)

Ya, they're not cheap, but they do have almost anything you need. ;)

I agree. And shipping time is quick, too. In the end, I probably won't even think twice about the cost as well as they work.

Do you have a local farm supply store like Tractor Supply? These coulplings are made by Ruland and Nomar. Also try your local industrial power transmission supplier, your local bearing, sprocket and chain house.

Good ideas. I did look through Amazon a bit, but I didn't think to look in my own back yard at the tractor supply stores. One place did surprised me with their Quincy air compressors.

Thanks...

I bought some for one of my tables on ebay here in Oz last week for $10.50 each so I expect they'd be about half of that in the US.

Thanks Murray,

I revisited eBay USA and found $10 couplers. They have one clamp screw per shaft and I can't say that isn't enough to hold. I'll give them a shot. Thanks again...
