Using Plas table w router and 3d

Post by Countryguy »

Q from newbie in trying to push the learning up a notch with the router attachment and my Precision Plasma LLC 4x8 table w BladeRunner from CandCNC. Looking to see what some of the 3d talk is about with a plasma table?
My son and I wanted to try a rifle stock possibly? Maybe in 2 halves? That is a long way off and we get to tackle the learning curve first. I am hoping someone here can help with some basics about the router setups?
Anyone know of a good forum or group for this? Will try CNCZONE next as well.
Can we use the router or some rotary tool and do plastics, or aluminum?
We are looking at FreeMill and Sketchup as tools to start with ? But that is more of a guess
What is the difference or limitations when trying to use the Plasma table vs a more traditional cnc table ?

Thanks everyone and thank you for reviewing this post. CG.

I played with a router setup with my plasma. It work okay, to build a 3d relief you will need to have software to make it.
It can be done I made a few things.
I will see if I can find a photo of the EGA that come with the software.

You can do just about anything just have to have the right drill. To do alum you will need to try and set up at lest a way to air cool the drill.
