Hypertherm T30v Shielded Consumables?

Post by Bigdogbro1 »

I thought I read somewhere that Hypertherm was creating a new 30A shielded consumable set for the PM45 type torch.
We could also use Ohmic touch off with the shielded 30A consumables

Any possibility here Jim?

There are currently no plans for development of shielded 30 amp consumables for the existing Powermax45 style torch. Our Torch and Consumables teams are working on lower amperage cutting for future product releases. I suspect that if newer consumable technology with low amperage shielded consumables becomes available it likely will be in a different torch design......when we have more information we will announce it!

This is in the PM45 manual.

A complete set of shielded consumables is shipped with the T45m machine torch. In addition, an ohmic sensing
retaining cap is available for use with the T45m shielded consumables. Unshielded consumables and the T30v
(Powermax30) 30 A consumables are also available for use with the T45m.

Would these consumables be of use for thinner gauge 14-16 material than the 45 consumables?

Yes I have used the 30 amp consumables for the POWERMAX 45 for the last 5 years.
Good from .5mm copper to 3mm mild steel
