Anyone here use one of these?

How well do they work ? And would it be good to remove some dross on a larger piece?

Re: Anyone use a burnisher?
here is a demo video but does not show much working action. I would not like to pay and find out it will not remove dross.
It also looks like the replacement brushes are expensive too!

Re: Anyone use a burnisher?
Because of the expense on the brushes I wouldn't waste my money on removing dross with it. It is designed to polish stainless and is not a grinder. Muriatic acid for a couple hours and a quick brush-over with a flap disk and dross is history, takes seconds to remove.

Re: Anyone use a burnisher?
One is on my wish list but Metabo brand.
They are not meant for dross removal but to put different finishes on metal surfaces or polish metal to different glosses.

Re: Anyone use a burnisher?
I have a Metabo. Like others have said, it's not for dross. It would work but the discs would wear quickly. I use it for polishing stainless and for when I want/need a linear finish.

I have one with an inflatable wheel and use it as a drum sander, doesn't remove dross, but gives you a cool brushed stainless look.

Re: Anyone use a burnisher?
Good morning gentelmen
I have two of these however they are the German Poly PTX machines (I think they are the originators). I have all the accesories and they are many, however mostly use it for stainless. Metabo now make an equivalent with the same accessories. For doing flat surfaces it is great, stainless finishing using 3M 'Trizac' is the way to go. If you need any more info, let me know.
