Inkscape Help

Post by suity13 »

Hi Guys
I was wondering if anyone could help. When I convert an image to DXF through inkscape the file has these little "dots" on some cuts and when I cut them the machine just cuts a partial hole where the dot was. Has anyone got advice how I can delete these "dots" before cutting?
Thanks in advance Rachel

The first that I would do is download this g-code simulator. It is Free http://camotics.org/ If you could share the file with me I can take a look at it. Can't say for sure until I see it but might need to clean the file prior to converting to DXF . Remove as many nodes as you can. What software are you using to create your G-CODE? Might be compatibility issues.

Sorry about the multiple reply's but when you open your gcodetools look in the DXF POINTS settings are to see if some areas are being tagged for drill points. Also make sure that your Inkscape is up to date. Are you using PREPARE PATH FOR PLAZMA CUTTER it is at the bottom of the list in extensions.

If you have single dots or small groups you want to remove get into the node tool. This will show all the nodes in the object you have high lighted.
Use your cursor to touch a node and then click on it this will turn it blue. You can either hit the delete key or up top click on the "-" box to remove that dot. Some time removing a node from an object with change the shape you can use Undo under edit to put it back. Single dots or small groups just go away.
