I'm new here. question about inkscape

Post by RedBeardFab »

Hi folks,
this is my first post on here. I'm new to graphic design type of stuff but I've been programming cnc machines for 10 years so that's nothing new.
I use inkscape on occasion to convert a pdf. to dxf. when i do i get like extra nodes in the path that turn into an extra line when i view it in sheetcam. then i have to go back and forth to edit the drawing then check it in sheet cam.
So I guess my question is does this happen a lot? Is this a inkscape issue? Is there a better not to expensive way to do this?

try saving the file in SVG SheetCam will work with either but SVG seems to be better for art type things.
There is a "simplify" command under "path" drop down which will remove nodes but may change the drawing. If you don't like the change just click on "un-do" under edit to go back.
