Max 200 40 Amp issues

Post by thenewcraft »

I was wondering if anyone is using a max 200 and is able to cut on the 40 Amp setting. I have never been able to, the torch always crashes into the material. Called my tech rep and he said that the hypertherm rep told him that 40 amp was an "unreliable process" with the max 200. Needless to say that's not the answer I was looking for and wished i would have know that before we bought the machine. Let me know if anyone can help. Thanks

I have no experience with Max 200 but I was curious if you have tried it with the auto torch height control (THC) turned OFF.

The 40 Amp process on the Max200 works fine......I have worked for Hypertherm for over 30 years and am very familiar with the machine. If you can supply me more detail about the machine you have it mounted on...the type of torch height control, along with what you are trying to cut I's be happy to help.
