Finally Cleaned out the Water Tray

Post by tnbndr »

Well, a little over a year of cutting and with the water tray filling up I decided to tear out the slats and clean her out. Took about 4 hours of scraping and scooping. Result was 4 - 5 gallon buckets of metal dust that had accumulated and built up in the tray. The slats were not in bad shape but I turned them all over to start fresh. I also changed out the swirl ring and shield even though they still looked good I figured one year of use was good.

I lined my water table it ceramic tile (18" X 18" slick finish) and the gunk comes off in large chunks when its dry.

Jester, is that a watertable?

Cleaning out my relatively small 48x30 table was a royal pain. I can tell its time when the sparks seem to bounce off the surface of the water; or maybe that's just because I use straight water.

It be a water table with tap water when its full. I did use washing soda when I was going to leave the water in for long time but mostly I fill it cut and drain after a few days. I have the water table and slates painted with tractor supply paint
