cutting problems

Post by oldironrep »

Torchmate 4x4 blue screen, Hypertherm 65. I an cutting 3/8 mild 45 amps and for some reason it starts gouging instead of cutting. In the pictures the slot and holes cut OK and then the outside starts not cutting thru. Also sometimes the Z drops to the cut height and moves but the torch doesn't fire. That only happened on the little holes once in a while. I haven't tried another file because I was ready to take the forklift and put the table in the dumpster, so I went home. Thanks in advance, Jeff.

Ground strap, cut height too low, air pressure wrong, pierce delay to short.

It works a lot better with the correct swirl ring in it. DUH. There's a day and a half I'll never get back because I was to lazy to get my glasses. I only thought I had one type of swirl ring. I guess it came with the start up kit. DUH.
