Table maintenance

Post by iron2 »

Do you grease or oil the rolling spindles on your table. Is there anything else I can do do keep the table in good shape?

Usually the biggest problem is dust. Keep it blown off regularly. Light grease on the moving parts is good, a dry grease / silicone spray may be better to keep the dust from sticking and getting messy. I usually spend about a day a month deep cleaning my table/gantry/runners/etc... Mostly just blowing everything off and wiping all the tracks and such down, checking bearings / adjustment screws / bolts etc...

I have round linear bearing on the Z axis and HWin type on X & Y I am just running oil through them every month or so as well, a wipe down when dusty as well.
