PlasmaCam offers two upgrades that any PlasmaCam, or Samson 510, or Go Torch user should seriously consider.
The first upgrade is the
Customizable Size. This allows you to redefine the table size for custom work, and it is a great upgrade.
The other is the Full 3D Capability upgrade.
Currently, PlasmaCam restricts table owners to two inches of Z-axis travel. Though this is fine for plasma cutting, a greater Z-axis travel is needed for 3D carving.
In a few weeks, I hope to post a few videos of a project I have been working on. If things go well, I will be able to demonstrate a PlasmaCam table with custom-built rail risers that will give me up to 18" of vertical travel on the RAILS. This is the first of two steps in improving the PlasmaCam tables for 3D routing projects.

Something like this would be so darn cool that I'd consider a separate plasmacam system just for special router projects. Truly, the possibilities of being able to achieve more clearance would make the machine limitless when it comes to a router. Can't wait to check it out. Keep us posted.
