Does anyone know what the powder like residue is on my powermax hand and machine torch is. Its not really noticable until you grab the cable, then you get some kind of invisible stickyness on your hands.
Both my machine torch and hand torch have hardly been used and are in a clean environment. Its possible its always been there and Im just now noticing it as I have been using my hand torch more than I have in the past.

No, its not visible. You dont really know its there unless you grab the cable. You dont see it on you hands eather, they just feel a little sticky after you grab the cable.
The real question is this.
What is recommended to clean these cables?
Can I wipe the cables down with some sort of solvent. I don't to hurt the cable so it would be nice to know what is safe.

It is a rubber cable......whatever you would use to clean rubber. Most solvents would be ok.
